A friend from work (Duane) asked me to go skiing (Mountain Creek in Vernon, NJ), and I had never been in my life. So, I said "Yes." I'm petrified of open-air heights but proceeded to go up to the top of the mountain on the cable-car thing. My first go out of the gate landed me flat on my back and my head slammed to the ground (thank goodness I was wearing a helmet!). Anyway...that set the tone for the day for me (not to mention for my ski career). I was sore for days afterwards...
